   GRE填空的经典套路，即whether在gre填空中的考察。填空对whether语义逻辑的考察主要集中在以下三个方面：

再者，in that 表因果关系，they rely on known physical principles。它们依赖于已知的物理原理。

综上，空格选择C. derivative 衍生的，非原创的。

三. Whether... or not 结构， 不管怎样，无论如何，是否

Section75-4

The question whether children like sweetener or not is (i)_____ . Of course，children like sweetener, which is (ii) _____to sellers, since children’s taste will not change once they are used to a certain brand.

解析：本题中whether... or not结构做了the question的同位语从句。

这个问题即小孩子是否喜欢甜口。Of course表示对前项说法的承认。

children like sweetener，因此空格1填入B. decided 这问题（的答案）是明白无误的，确实无疑的。

空格2描述小孩子喜欢甜口这个情况对于商家的影响和作用。

根据因果关系 since children’s taste will not change once they are used to a certain brand。

一旦习惯了某个品牌，小孩子的口味就不会变。

因此对商家是利好的。空格填入选项E. a commercial advantage 商业上的有利条件。
